Antonia Lofaso

Chef Antonia Lofaso's cuisine is an invitation to explore deep into her inner world. Curiosity grew in her after she left for the Long Island suburbs to explore the vast cultural diversity in Los Angeles. The belief that cavatelli and carnitas are able to coexist seamlessly on the same menu conveys a sensibility which continues to evolve. What remains, however, with her food is an unifying view of the future that longingly remembers the previous. Inspired by her Italian-American heritage Lofaso launched Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 and was instantly well-received. Lofaso's interpretation of old-school Italian has been acclaimed for being among the top places to enjoy Italian food within Los Angeles. Patrons have described Scopa as an essential neighbourhood staple, where Lofaso always provides food that is genuine and incredibly satisfying. Lofaso learned from culinary giants who employed sophisticated methods. But, she didn't hesitate to take extreme risks in order to respect her intuition. Following her rapid rise up the ranks, she transformed various Los Angeles high-profile restaurants while working with high-profile stars. In 2011, Lofaso joined forces together with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to debut Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. In Black Market and the business alliances she created, Lofaso was able to find a place to call home. Lofaso could finally enjoy the creativity she had always wanted. Black Market is not constrained by a single direction, and that is the intention. A meal could start with chipped potatoes and peppers with dill, followed by Korean meatballs and wings. Antonia, the chef behind this mouth-watering menu of bold flavors is what anchors the whole. Lofaso has, over the course of her career, has measured performance by the degree to which she knows her target audience. Also, she stays authentic to her personality. She's been on of many television shows, including Top Chef Chicago, Top Chef: All Stars as well as Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child on The Food Network and ABC's Real O'neals. Her talents have continued to be showcased as a judge for CNBC's Restaurant Startup. Lofaso joined forces with Penguin Publishing to produce The Busy Mother's Cookbook 100 Recipes for easy, Delicious, Home Cooked Meals. In the book, she also discusses her experience as a mother and a student in the French Culinary Institute. Lofaso says that the inspiration behind all of her success comes from the kitchen. That's how she maintains a constant pulse on the current happenings. Chefletics transforms the appearance of chef wear with its focus on design and function. Lofaso cares about being true to yourself and your goals. To accomplish this, she has launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. The new company will offer a tailored experience to clients.
