Jill Hennessy

She's a native Edmontonian with Irish, Italian and Swedish origins, in addition to French, Ukrainian French as well as Swedish. Jacqueline is her twin sister. She is also an actor. Jill was fluent in many languages as she grew up. It were Italian, French, and Spanish. Jill began to become interested in acting around the age of 12. Her acting journey began in Toronto through David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers playing an escort along with her twin sister. Following her improv classes with Deb Kimmet at Second City, she began her acting career in Toronto. She was transferred in New York two years later and signed a contract portray Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid in the hit longest-running drama Law & Order. She also worked in films including RoboCop 3 (1998), Ron Howard's The Paper (2000) and I Shot Andy Warhol 1996) during her three-year run. Over the next couple of years she was offered roles in some forgettable films and in 1999, she landed her first starring role on the television miniseries uremberg in a role with Alec Baldwin. The roles in the major series like Autumn in New York and Exit Wounds followed. She landed the leading role of Crossing Jordan, the NBC crime drama Crossing Jordan in 2001. In 2007, she was awarded the Gracie Allen Award for "Outstanding female character in a drama" in recognition of her performance in the series. In 2000, she married the actor who played her Paolo Mastropietro. They have two kids. In 2007, she was awarded the honour of being included to be on the Canada's Walk of Fame.
