Alanis Morissette

Alanis Nadine was born on the 1st June 1974. She was born in Ottawa, Canada. Alanis' Greek is a female form of Alan's father's surname. Her mother's name is Georgia and there are two brothers named Chad and Wade (Alanis"Twin"). She was able to play the piano at age six and began playing guitar at the age of 21. Alanis released a single in the year 1986 titled Fate stay with me (b-side : Find The Right Man). Then, in Canada, Alanis recorded two dance-pop albums: Alanis (in the year 1991) and The Time Is The Time in 1992. Her move to Toronto at the age of 18 and started working with music and writers, but these partnerships didn't pan out. Glen Ballard was the producer/songwriter she chose in 1994. Glen had previously worked with Aretha Frankin Michael Jackson and Barbra Strreisand. After that, she relocated to LA in the age of 19. The Madonna's Maverick Records released the song "Jagged Little Pill" on June 13th in 1995. Alanis found a way of creating songs that were very personal and autobiographical. JLP has sold over 30 million copies across the world. This album has been the best selling female album, and also the third most popular album all time.
